My natural cabinet

Some of Lena’s collages are more like individual pieces of art rather than part of a pattern. Some of them are presented here in what is called a digital Cabinet of natural curiosities.

In Swedish it is called a “Naturaliekabinett”. Popular since the 16th century – for those who were very wealthy, as kings and queens.

Today, scientist choose to document and describe species and their occurrences in other ways.

And most of this information is available to everyone, in scientific reports or in spectacular films in various platforms.

Lena takes photographs of nature on her daily walks. Then they are edited and arranged in themes of color, shapes and rhythms. Always with a sense of wonder and joy over how much beauty is everywhere around us. It is art which will inspire! as an inspiration rather than a science. Enjoy!
